Info for Parents
A new school in Blackrock! An Foras Pátrúnachta are opening a new multi-denominational Gaelscoil in September 2019, offering parents a great new choice. See further information below.
Why choose a new Gaelscoil?
Our school will open on Kill Lane, Deansgrange this September.
The permanent location will be confirmed by the Dept. of Education in September 2019.
We are delighted to have Príomhoide Aoife appointed as Principal. Her extensive experience and love of Irish culture will be a great asset to the school.
The school will open with Junior infants only. We appoint our second teacher at 18 students. This means a maximum pupil teacher ratio of 17:1 – a hugely valuable resource for your child as they begin their journey with us.
We will recruit our learning support teacher and secretary this summer.
Registration for 2019
Late registration is now open for Junior Infants 2019 only. Therefore, registration for later years will open after Halloween 2019.

Gaelscoil Laighean school is co-educational, multi-denominational and Irish-medium. We will grow to 8 classes, one of each class group. Everyone is welcome. Everyone is equal. A Gaelscoil4all! We’re delighted to be adding to a vibrant Irish language community in South Dublin, one of the only areas in Ireland to offer Irish-medium education from pre-school to post-grad!
Above all, the happiness off our students comes first.
The latest school update is available here. Also, parents who have accepted places for 2019 will receive regular updates directly via email.
